IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) Exams at Jo Jo’s
The IDTA is a corporate member of the British Dance Council. Members of the Council for Dance Education & Training (UK), Central Council of Physical Recreation & The Stage Dance. The IDTA is an awarding organization recognized by Ofqual to offer qualifications and framework. The Association’s graded and vocational examinations have been accepted as regulated qualifications.
Our students at Jo Jo’s are trained using both internationally recognized syllabi and non-syllabus classes. The IDTA graded system enables us to improve each student’s technique and develop their confidence, enabling our teachers to progress students to the next grade.
An IDTA examiner is invited to Jo Jo’s 2-3 times a year, examining Amateur levels from preparatory to grade 6, Intermediate, and Advanced 1 & 2. Jo Jo’s has also put many older students who aspire to go on to teach within the school through their Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship teaching examinations, resulting in exceptionally high marks!
Students at Jo Jo’s don’t need to take IDTA examinations, however, most students choose to if we feel they are ready. We understand each student is an individual and has different aims and aspirations, we use examinations as a great way to encourage our students to strive for progress, and we pride ourselves on the 100% pass rate within the school.
