Class & School Etiquette

The school expects all pupils to show courtesy and consideration to all teachers and fellow pupils. When you are taking a class, talking should remain minimal, this is so we do not waste time in learning. Never talk when your teacher is talking.

Correction of Pupils

Teaching pupils to dance correctly, involves physical contact by encouraging them to use muscles they are probably unaware of. The basic elements of correct stance which, for example, involve abdominal, back and inner thighs can then be clearly explained. Although we make these corrections with the utmost care, they must be done in class as part of the training. Parents, who have any concerns with this, should speak directly to the principal.

Public Areas & Studios

Please look after your school. Put your rubbish in the litter bins, and leave things how you found them. No food, gum, sweets or drinks is permitted in any of the dance studios with the exception of isotonic drinks or water as necessary. Keep your feet off the walls.

Uniform List

There is a set uniform which is available from Jo Jo’s. It is not vital when your child starts, but will become essential after they have been with the school for a period of  time. This is for the pupils comfort while dancing, and also to make each student feel a member of the school. The uniform will be essential when your child takes an exam. Until your child has the uniform, please bring them to class in comfortable clothing  and bare feet. At all times please wear correct uniform to class. Hair is to be tied up off the face and no jewellery or body piercing are to be worn. This is for your safety.
