Teacher and Front Of House Manager

Courtney Jones

Courtney, 31, has been part of the Jo Jo’s team since 2021, starting as the Street Dance teacher and progressing over the years to now also co-ordinating our ‘Jo Jo Star Productions’ Musical Theatre Company, and taking on the role of ‘Front of House Manager’.

She has danced herself from a very young age with Tracy Bishop, Principle of Tech-Niks Dance School, teaching her most of what she knows. In 2016 Tracy decided she wanted to focus on other things and so gave the school to Courtney who now owns Tech-Niks Dance.

Style’s Courtney originally learnt include Disco Freestyle, Street Dance, Ballroom and Latin, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Country Line Dancing. She took many exams and competed all over England taking many titles.

At age 18 Courtney decided to take her dance ability down another route and auditioned for a production company. It’s here she found her love for the stage and since has performed in many shows, with different companies, taking on various roles including lead principle roles, supporting chorus parts and dance captain.

Performing in shows has allowed Courtney to gain experience in Acting, Singing, Musical Theatre, Ballet, Jazz and Tap. After two years of performing on the stage she was approached and asked to choreograph the hit musical ‘Fame’ being performed at The Winter Gardens, Margate. It was a huge success with great feedback of the choreography and the standard of dancers. It was also here she was spotted as having a great talent for choreography and asked to choreograph further productions for other companies.

Since then Courtney has worked seasonally in Disneyland Paris as a Character and Parade Performer, had contracts with Brittany Ferries as a Children’s Entertainer, been a Cheerleader for Kent County Cricket Club and choreographed many shows across Kent.

Courtney has also been a self-employed Personal Trainer since 2012 and thoroughly enjoys it!
